Storefront keeps reloading after enabling Transtore
If your storefront continuously reloads after enabling Transtore, another localization app or redirect setting may be conflicting with Transtore.
Follow the checks below to identify and resolve the issue.
1. Check for other localization apps
Check whether another translation, currency converter, Geolocation, or market redirect app is running at the same time as Transtore.
For example, Weglot and Transtore both run translation scripts on the storefront. If both apps are enabled, their scripts may conflict and cause the storefront to load slowly or reload continuously.
To check for a conflict:
- From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
- Click Customize next to your active theme.
- Open App embeds.
- Temporarily turn off the app embed for Weglot or another localization app.
- Click Save.
- Open your storefront and check whether the reloading has stopped.
If the other app has an automatic language detection or redirect feature, temporarily disable that feature as well.
You do not need to uninstall the other app while testing. Temporarily disable its app embed, automatic translation, or redirect feature to confirm whether it is causing the conflict.
If the storefront stops reloading, keep only one automatic translation app active to prevent their storefront scripts from conflicting.
2. Check the Transtore Geolocation settings
If another localization app is not causing the issue, check whether Automatic switching is creating a redirect loop.
- Open the Transtore app.
- Go to Geolocation.
- If Automatic switching is selected, temporarily select Show recommendations.
- Save your changes.
- Open the storefront in a private or incognito browser window.
If the storefront stops reloading, review your Shopify Markets, language URLs, and redirect settings before using Automatic switching again.
See Set up Geolocation and configure its options for more information.
3. Check your Shopify Markets and language URLs
Confirm that:
- Each target language is published for the correct Shopify Market.
- Your market domains and language subfolders are configured correctly.
- No other app or custom redirect sends visitors back to the previous market or language URL.
A redirect that repeatedly sends visitors between two URLs can cause the storefront to reload continuously.
4. Test the storefront again
After adjusting the conflicting app or redirect setting:
- Open your storefront in a private or incognito browser window.
- Switch to a target language using the Transtore Switcher.
- Browse several pages.
- Confirm that the storefront no longer reloads or becomes unusually slow.
If the storefront continues reloading, please contact us at [email protected]. Include your storefront URL, active theme name, affected page URL, a screen recording of the issue, and the names of any other translation, currency, Geolocation, or redirect apps installed on your store.
