What will happen when you uninstall and re-install Transtore?
We know that configuring languages, currencies, and storefront settings takes time. To make sure your effort isn’t wasted, Transtore is built to temporarily retain your data even after the app is removed.
Here’s what you should expect when uninstalling - and coming back to - Transtore.
I. When Uninstalling Transtore
Once Transtore is uninstalled, your data is stored for up to 90 days.
If you reinstall the app within this period, your previous setup can be recovered. While your data is retained, Transtore keeps:
- Translated content and published languages
- Currency configurations and rounding rules
- Switcher layout and design settings
- Media file uploaded in the app
Important note:
Transtore also syncs translations directly with Shopify. That means:
- Your translated content still exists in Shopify even after removing Transtore
- Translations are only permanently deleted if you manually remove those languages from Shopify Admin
So please be advised that uninstalling the app alone does not erase the manual translations you configured in the app.
II. When Reinstalling Transtore
If you decide to reinstall Transtore, the process is simple:
- Choose a plan
You’ll be prompted to select a plan again. 2. Confirm billing
Charges only begin after you approve the selected plan. 3. Restore previous data (if available)
If your reinstallation happens within the data retention period, your old settings and translations will be restored automatically.
The features and restored data available to you will depend on the plan you choose when reinstalling the app.
III. Billing Considerations After Reinstallation
Transtore applies billing fairly and transparently after reinstallation.
There are 2 common scenarios:
- If you reinstall within your billing period: You can continue using Transtore without interruption. The subscription was still active when you returned,
- If you reinstall after your billing period ends: You’ll need to choose a plan and start a new billing cycle.
