How will I be charged when upgrading/downgrading plans?
Transtore relies on Shopify’s secure billing system, ensuring that all upgrades, downgrades, and plan changes are processed seamlessly within your existing billing cycle. Here’s a quick overview of how Shopify handles billing for upgrades and downgrades, so you always know what to expect.
I. How Our Billing Works
Transtore’s subscription billing is managed entirely through Shopify’s payment system. This ensures:
- Secure and reliable processing handled by Shopify
- All app charges are consolidated within your regular Shopify invoice
- Clear, transparent pricing with no hidden fees
- A familiar payment flow you already use for other Shopify billing

II. Understanding Shopify Billing Cycles
When reviewing your Shopify invoice, it's important to know that two different timelines are involved:
- Your Shopify billing cycle (e.g., when your invoice is issued - typically every 30 days)
- The app’s own 30-day subscription cycle

Because these cycles may not align perfectly, your invoice may include charges or credits from multiple subscription events - but only for dates that fall within your billing period.
III. How Shopify Applies the App Charges
Shopify calculates upgrades and downgrades based on the remaining days in your app’s 30-day subscription cycle:
Upgrades:
- Appear as charges under the Apps section of your Shopify bill
- Shopify charges the price difference, prorated for the remaining days in your current subscription cycle
Downgrades:
- Appear as credits on your Shopify bill
- Shopify issues a credit based on the price difference, prorated for the days remaining in your subscription cycle
Note: If you upgrade or downgrade after your invoice is generated, Shopify will apply those charges or credits on the next invoice, even though they still belong to the same subscription cycle.
